Creative Coding (Funded by MGC Futures)
I’m so honoured to be one of the MGC Futures Bursary Recipients for 2021. I used my bursary to do a course in Creative Coding, looking specifically at the Processing coding language. Creative coding is an incredible way to create innovative and interactive pieces of digital art and, for me, learning the tools needed to code creatively opens up a whole new way of working and interacting with audiences: from creating randomised backdrops that dancers/audiences can explore and graphic projections that immerse individuals in a dance scene, to enabling others to control and explore dance stills and videos with their computer mouse.
I am so grateful to MGC Futures – without them I wouldn’t have been able to do this training and I’m so excited to be able to create immersive dance works in the near future using this new knowledge.
