Lichfield Screendance Festival Awarded Arts Council Funding

8/8/2022

Over the moon to announce that @lichfieldscreendancefestival has been awarded Arts Council National Lottery project funding 🤩🎉

The funding will help to deliver a 4 month long screendance exhibition, 3 Made Local Films, 2 Participatory Workshops and 1 CPD Session for Dance Artists.

A massive thank you @aceagrams ❤️

And massive thanks to the amazing @thehubatstmarys for your continous support and championing of local artists, producers, new work and dance! 😍

----

Coming to The Hub in late September, Lichfield’s first Screendance Festival will celebrate telling stories through dance and film. The Festival aims to showcase the experiences, ideas and perspectives of a diverse range of people and will explore the possibilities of capturing movement on film.

Mini ‘shorts’ (60 second films) will be available to view throughout The Hub at St Mary's using QR codes and will showcase innovative, creative and thought-provoking responses to the theme ‘telling my story’. The Festival will also feature three ‘Made Local Films’, created by local dance artists and community groups. These films will be screened at a special celebration evening in November and will then be available on social media.

There will also be opportunities to get involved with dance and film making workshops as part of the festival. Stay tuned for further announcements about the programme and opportunities to get involved.

Tappin' In Commission

5/30/2022

I'm really excited to announce that I've been commissioned to create a brand new outdoor work, incorporating tap dance, as part of 'Tappin' In' at Birmingham International Dance Festival. I'll be working with two dancers to create my take on a classic, Hollywood Musical, dance duet.

The work will be performed as part of Birmingham International Dance Festival 2022 on Saturday 18th June.

Wondrous Stories

3/20/2022

An incredible first set of performances for #CriticalMass22 with 'WONDROUS STORIES'. What a fantastic opportunity for young adults across the West Midlands and what a showcase of the talent #Brum has on offer! I feel very honoured to be supporting participants on this project.

Massive thanks to @critical_mass22 and @dancexchange_ for everything and @motionhouse for creating the show and involving our groups!
